In 1989, Jim Stranberg founded our firm with a clear focus on value-driven executive search and top-tier service. This approach emphasized personalized attention and limited the number of simultaneous searches to ensure quality placements.
Kate Stranberg joined the firm in 2010, bringing a decade of experience in management consulting. Bill Stranberg followed in 2013, after six years working in Asia, further strengthening our team. With their involvement, our firm transitioned from a singular entrepreneurial project to a multigenerational business.
This transition also marked a strategic shift towards specializing in family-owned and founder-led businesses.
Today, Stranberg is the leading firm in executive search and leadership consulting for family owned and founder led businesses. We focus on researching and addressing the unique challenges and opportunities these businesses face. MANAGING PARTNER
Bill, an SRG Partner, brings extensive cross-industry executive search experience, specializing in sales, marketing, general management, and operations. With a China stint of seven years, he offers unique global insights and Mandarin fluency. Proficient in seamless multicultural recruitment and adept at relationship-building, Bill holds a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Bachelor’s degree and enjoys tennis and woodworking.

Kate, an SRG Partner, boasts a decade+ leading executive search and recruitment, specializing in supply chain, sourcing, transportation, engineering, and operations. She’s adept in CEO successions, senior roles, and family businesses across sectors like retail, manufacturing, and hospitality. With global experience, Kate champions women in supply chain leadership, aids generational transitions, and holds a business degree from Indiana University.

Rich, with 35 years in executive search specializing in C-suite recruitment, particularly CEOs and their teams. Rich has expertise in supporting family-owned businesses in transition in West Michigan and the Upper Midwest. He has a strong network with board members, consultants, and attorneys, focusing on succession and leadership transition planning. Most of his assignments come from this network, thanks to his reputation as a trusted advisor. His previous roles include positions at Battaglia Winston, A.T. Kearney, and Coopers & Lybrand's (PWC) executive search practice.
