James R. Stranberg, Managing Partner
Jim’s focus with Stranberg Resource Group is on developing and nurturing productive executive search relationships with mid-market industrial and consumer products companies. He has over 20 years executive search and management consulting experience and has successfully led projects for companies ranging in size from start-up to Fortune 100. His experience is primarily with manufacturing companies including durable and non-durable, industrial products, consumer products, distributors, systems integrators and professional service providers.
Jim built Stranberg Resource Group around fundamental beliefs: listening carefully to clients; developing search strategies that align which each client’s specific and unique requirements; focusing on engagement through clear communications and dialogue with both client stakeholders and executive candidates; and using a one-to-one personal style to ensure that expectations are met and results are achieved.
His executive search experience includes Presidents; General Managers; and Vice Presidents of Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply-Chain & Logistics, Finance & Accounting, and Human Resources.
His career includes 16 years as managing partner, five years as a partner with Callan Associates, five years executive search and management consulting experience with Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Young. Prior to executive search, he gained experience in sales and human resource management.
A native of Illinois, Jim and his family reside in Libertyville, IL. He has a BA from the University of Illinois – Urbana, IL.
Kate Stranberg, Partner
Kate brings a successful management consulting and relationship development background to the SRG team. She has 8 years of experience in Supply Chain and Operations Strategy with a wide range of clients across the globe. Her work spans a number of industries including industrial manufacturing, financial services, government, private equity, marketing services, food & beverage, and retail.
Prior to joining SRG, Kate spent two years as a Manager of Strategic Operations at the women's retailer Ann Taylor Corporation. Her role at Ann Taylor gave her a deep understanding of the end-to-end operations of a large retail company and required continuous cross-functional communications between executives in Logistics, Finance, Human Resources and Store Operations.
She also spent six years in management consulting with Accenture and Alaris Consulting, specializing in Global Supply Chain Management and Strategy. She has developed strong relationships with a wide range of industries and functional areas. Kate's focus in Supply Chain Management allowed her to develop strong skills in negotiations, strategic sourcing, logistics network design, problem solving, and improving/developing internal and external relationships.
Kate has provided consulting assistance in Retained Executive Search for many years and has closely followed the industry's trends and practices. Since joining Stranberg Resource Group in early 2010, she has focused on Operations, Supply Chain, Distribution/Logistics and Finance projects while heading up the company's Internet and Marketing initiatives.
Kate resides in Chicago and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Indiana University – Bloomington. Her interests include international studies, equestrian, photography, and outdoor adventuring.
Anne Joosep, Partner
Anne brings a broad business background to Stranberg Resource Group. She has over 14 years executive search experience including research, sourcing, candidate development and evaluation, and business development. She has been key to the success of searches in General Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, Supply-Chain, Quality, and Finance. Her searches have been national in scope and ranged from entrepreneurial firms to Fortune 100. Anne joined Stranberg Resource Group at its inception
Prior to her experience in executive search, Anne held the position of Manager of Financial and Administrative Services at G.D. Searle & Co. There she initiated and developed systems for Capital Expense Justification and Review, Internal Job Posting, and Budget Development and a monthly review and analysis of the R&D Department (department size – 450). Her skills also included organizational consulting to various internal groups related to team building, climate building and career pathing.
Anne has an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Business. She recently served on the Board of Directors of the community Civic Center and the David Adler Cultural Center and has chaired committees for the Village Youth Group in Libertyville, IL.
